EARLY ELECTRONICS

SOURCING COMPONENTS, LEARNING ARDUINO AND ESTABLISHING THE FEASIBILITY OF THE ELECTRONICS

The reliance on electronics in the project leant itself to developing working electronics as quickly as possible, in order to allow the necessary time to then develop a functional app that communicated with the circuitry.
A number of components were ordered and purchased; an Arduino Uno, BLE shield, LEDs  and temperature sensor – whilst an initial logic flow was generated to facilitate the development of code.
Each component was tested in a standard sketch, then incorporated into a bespoke code that measured temperature, mapped this to a series of values that then illuminated the LEDs proportionally; provided that a mass was applied to the FSR, mimicking the mass of the water being measured in the kettle.
